Brittany is one of the most
popular holiday destinations for UK tourists. A Brittany holiday has something for everyone. Glorious beaches, historical towns and attractions, a
wide variety of sporting facilities and a wealth of self-catering holiday accommodation.
Brittany is a province in the western part of France corresponding to the departments of Finistere, Cotes-d'Armor, Morbihan, Ille-et-Vilaine
and Loire-Atlantique. The area is 27,194 sq km and consists of two distinct zones: maritime zone and inland zone. The climate is oceanic: the
winters are mild and the summers are cool.
Agriculture, fishing and tourism are the main sources of income along with canneries and shipyards. With the exception of
Rennes all the main cities are located on the coast.
Surrounded by the Atlantic on three sides, France's north-western peninsular, Brittany, is a region of wild, rugged
landscapes. During centuries of relative isolation, a strong regional identity formed, which survives to this day.

Indeed with its winding, quiet country lanes, long, deserted sandy beaches and little thatched cottages, this could be

Moules and Frites (Mussels and chips), Crepes and of course Breton cider.
- Brittany climate
Brittany has a gentle maritime climate. In Brittany there are not huge variations in temperature and the rain,
whilst frequent, is not heavy. Contrary to popular belief, the annual rainfall is not what is significant about Brittany’s weather but rather
its changeability.
